                In  the year 1964, when Miss Tulasi Munda was  14  years old,   the  eminent  Social    Worker  late   Malati Choudhuri had organised a meeting at Jodipada of Keonjhar District.    She   attended  the   meeting   and   listened everything.   When Malati Choudhury asked them to stand  up  who are really interested to join with her.  Miss.   Munda  consented  to that and  went   to  Utkal Navajeevan  Mandal,  Angul.  During her training   period, she had chance to meet late Navakrishna Choudhury and Maa Ramadevi.   They all influenced her to work for the  down- trodden of the society.  After   getting experimental work on Education  and  awareness  at   the  Utkal  Navajeevan Mandal, Angul,  Tulasi Munda came to Serenda in 1964.    She has  involved  with    issues   like displacement,  Labour  exploitation, wages,   minimum safety standards and antisocial activities.  She commands a good respect   and  acceptance   amongest   tribals   of Joda-Barbil areas.

 

                She is the founder of the Adivasi   Vikash Samiti, (Registered   in  the   year  1982-83)    At/P.O.- Serenda, Barbil and is, at present, the Secretary of the Samiti.

        (i)   Promotion of Human Potential Development.

        (ii)  Promotion of Community Organisation & Education.

        (iii) Promotion of Women Development.

        (iv)  Promotion of Ecological Development.

 

        OPERATIONAL AREA

 

        -     Joda,   Jhumpura   and  Sadar   Block  of   Keonjhar District.   The  Target population  are   completely Rural working class.
